Swansea's 19-year-old fly-half Gavin Henson will make his first senior international start for Wales against Romania at the Millennium Stadium on Wednesday.

Henson, who made his debut during Wales' summer tour of Japan, takes over the number 10 shirt from the injured Neil Jenkins.

Llanelli's Chris Wyatt has received an unexpected opportunity to prove himself again at the highest level.

He was has twice been cast into the international wilderness by coach Graham Henry after heavy defeats by England.

The most obvious omission from the side is Lion Scott Gibbs.

Instead, Llanelli fly-half Stephen Jones gets the nod at inside centre to partner Allan Bateman.

Neath's New Zealand-born flanker Brett Sinkinson was expected to make a return to the side since the acrimonious Grannygate affair, but he must be settle for a place on the substitutes bench.

Gavin Thomas of Bath takes the openside flanker position, with Lion Colin Charvis on the blindside.

Fellow Lions Gareth Thomas, Dafydd James, Rob Howley, Robin McBryde and captain Dai Young also start.

Bath scrum-half Gareth Cooper has withdrawn from the Wales bench after sufferingn an injury during Bath's Premiership defeat by Saracens at the weekend.

He is replaced by Llanelli youngster Dwayne Peel, who was capped when Wales toured Japan this summer. Peel will provide back-up for Howley, who makes his 50th Test appearance.
