Fly-half Simon Mannix was the home hero as he converted six penalties as Cardiff were regularly penalised for indiscretions around the rucks. Wing duo Nick Walne and Gareth Thomas scored the Cardiff's tries in a largely disappointing match, but Gloucester always seemed the most likely winners thanks to a powerful performance from their forwards.
