Colin Charvis: Another try for the in-form flanker
Caerphilly 10-48 Swansea

Caerphilly's unbeaten home record this season was smashed in dramatic style at Virginia Park as Swansea wreaked havoc.

The victory, and Bridgend's narrow defeat at Llanelli, saw the Great Whites storm to the top of the league table.

A knock-on from Swansea gave the Castlemen the opening try as captain Andrew Williams drove the scrum forward 10 metres and finally touched down for five points.

But from that point on it all went Swansea's way. Tries came as incessantly as the driving rain, and Richard Rees, James Griffiths, Colin Charvis and Steve Winn all found gaps in Caerphilly's defence.

Scott Gibbs forced another on the half-time whistle after quick hands and some superb interplay with Wales hopeful Arwel Thomas.

Fijian Alfie Mocelutu grabbed his debut try for the home side but the substitution of the whole of the Caerphilly front row due to injury signified the collapse of the match.

The inevitable came in the form of a second try from James Griffiths who cut a swathe through several defenders for a spectacular touchdown.
