High winds forced organisers to cancel the second of the two women's World Cup downhill races scheduled for this weekend in Spain's Sierra Nevada. Saturday's first race was cancelled because of heavy snowfalls and poor visibility.
Organisers had delayed the start of Sunday's race by an hour in the hope that the winds would ease but were later forced to admit defeat.
There are no plans to reschedule the Sierra Nevada races because of the crowded calendar in the final three weeks of the World Cup season.
There are two more women's downhills left on the calendar.
The first, in Innsbruck next Saturday, was postponed from January because of a lack of snow at the Austrian resort.
The second will be part of next month's World Cup finals in Lillehammer, Norway.
