England v France

What on earth did the refereee think he was doing during the England/France match?

At the end it turned into a football match by playing 12 minutes of injury tme, which was completely ludicrous. There was nothing of the sort- maybe 5 or 6 maximum.

And then there was the 'high' tackle Will Greenwood made on one of the french players, who, as Jonathon Davies rightly mentioned, was about 2 feet of the ground when the tackle was made.

It was an appalling game of rugby, and not least because of the absolutely terrible decisions made by the Referee and Touch judges. I hope the refereeing is considerably better throughout the rest of the tournament.

Italy v Wales

I am disgusted at the way Wales played today, they were pathetic they showed no strength , will or passion, they looked like they didn't have a clue what they were doing, and I don't think they did. Next year I think it will be back to the FIVE nations - because Wales haven't got the standard or clss anymore.

Well done to Italy on their victory over Wales! it was nice to see Italy actually playing some rugby, rather than the narrow, tight style they normally play. Mauro Bergamasco could play anywhere on the pitch and is a real tackling winger!

It was good to see Italy win another game, they played well and disciplined for once. Good to see so many Calvisano players doing well. It is so boring to watch England play.Ireland played well with excellent defence. England are very boring to watch.

Ireland's defence made the difference against Scotland. However, they let Scotland have too much of the ball and only for Scottish errors it could have been a different story. Ireland cannot afford to do this when playing England or France.

David Humphreys added to his reputation and might keep O'Gara out of the starting line-up. O'Driscoll showed that he is maturing into a world class player.

This was the team that beat South Africa? Ireland were playing Rugby Union....Scotland were playing silly beggars!! Things can't get worse I suppose...well played Ireland enjoyed the commitment and skill. Why couldn't we have found out if BOD had a scottish granny?

I have just watched Ireland's great win against Scotland and after hearing the after match comments from the pundits I felt I had to write in.

I normally enjoy John Inverdale & Jonathon Davies but come on lads give Ireland some credit for a very comprehensive victory, you spent all your time telling us how bad Scotland were and went on about how England or France would punish Ireland - give some credit we can only beat one team at a time!

I can understand Mr Davies been a bit upset as his team did not even turn up in Rome and as for Mr Inverdale maybe the English have forgotten how to enjoy a win (come on England you have beaten a French team which I think are favourites to win the World Cup).

Anyway I've said my bit - its still great to have the rugby back on the BBC I'm off out for a pint to CELEBRATE our win.

Who would have thought that after the 1st weekend Italy would be top. Wales were very poor and their game versus Scotland will be awful!

England and France weren't at their best. Ireland looked very solid. An 8/1 outside bet for the title may be a good bet. They have England and France at home and a surprise could be on the cards.

However, it looks like the Six Nations could become two seperate leagues with England, France and Ireland battling for the title and Scotland, Wales and Italy trying to avoid the wooden spoon.
