Llodra and Santoro were seeded fifth for the tournament

The fifth seeds celebrated their 7-6 (7-4) 6-3 win with an impromptu striptease on Rod Laver Arena.

The triumph capped an eventful week for Santoro, who was kicked out of the French Davis Cup team by captain Guy Forget who said he no longer fitted in.

Forget claimed the 31-year-old's personality created "tensions".

"I think together we are one of the best or the best team in the world," said Santoro.

"It's sad that we won't play together next Saturday."

Santoro was also fined for spittting at a linesman earlier in the tournament during his singles defeat to Mark Philippoussis.

On sealing victory on Saturday, Llodra sat in his courtside chair with his head covered in a towel and sobbed for several minutes.

"It was difficult for me because last year I lost my mum," the 23-year-old explained.

"We lost a couple of times in the final last year and I wanted to prove to my mum (that we could win). It was very emotional."

And after receiving their trophy, the French pair stripped to their underwear and hurled their clothing into the crowd to wild cheers.
