Andre Agassi reached the last four of the Australian Open without exerting himself as Sebastien Grosjean retired injured during their quarter-final. The defending champion came through 6-2 2-0 to claim his 26th consecutive win in the event.
Agassi was in complete control from the opening game, when he broke Grosjean, and the Frenchman soon had the trainer on for a pulled muscle.
Agassi goes on to face either Andy Roddick or Marat Safin next.
"I come out here and try to work hard from the first point," said Agassi.
"Experience tells me that the time on this court goes by very quickly so every point you work in your favour the better.
"Today I was executing the ball well, the first day we've had some pretty warm weather in a while so it snuck up on both of us.
"It was hard work early and I managed to get the upper hand there.
"But there's still a lot of tennis left and it's just unfortunate that it ended that way today."
