Second seed Kim Clijsters continued her untroubled run at the Australian Open with a 6-3 6-3 fourth-round win over Silvia Farina Elia. The Belgian was rarely spectacular against her Italian opponent but she did enough to move through comfortably.
Clijsters, who faces Anastasia Myskina next, is still to drop a set and has conceded just 14 games so far.
And she does not appear to be hampered by the ankle injury which threatened to force her out of the event.
"I felt good out there, very lucky to complete this week, but I'm playing really well," she said.
"I didn't have the amount of practice I wanted to have or should have had, but I still feel like I'm hitting the ball as well as I want to."
Myskina recovered from a dreadful start to beat Chanda Rubin in three sets.
The sixth seed from Russia started slowly and Rubin raced into a 4-0 lead.
However, Myskina began to find her range with some big winners and although she lost the first set on a tiebreak, she came back to win the second 6-2.
An early break in the deciding set put the Russian completely in charge and she eased away to take it 6-2.
Myskina said she would have to play at "300%" if she wants to beat world number two Clijsters.
"Against Kim, you have to do your best. Not 100%, I have to give 300%. If you do that, you can beat her," she said.
