Bogdanovic made himself unavailable for the tie with Turkey last July
Alex Bogdanovic, James Ward and Jamie Baker will compete for the two singles spots for Great Britain's Davis Cup match against Tunisia on 4-6 March. World number 378 Bogdanovic has not played in the Davis Cup since 2008 and last won a singles rubber in 2003. British number one Andy Murray said earlier in February that he would not be available for the tie in Bolton. The doubles specialists Colin Fleming and Jamie Murray complete the five-man squad. Bogdanovic, the British number six, was first dropped from the side for the tie against Ukraine at the start of 2009 and has not featured since. The 26-year-old made himself unavailable for last year's tie against Turkey saying he wanted to concentrate on improving his ranking, but has now seemingly had a change of heart and is set to feature in the Europe/Africa Zone Group II tie with Tunisia at the Bolton Arena. Great Britain, ranked 44 in the Davis Cup rankings, beat Turkey last July in a Europe/Africa group two relegation play-off to halt a run of five successive defeats. World number 212 Ward won both of his matches in that tie and is the highest ranked player in the British squad. Jamie Baker, ranked 401, also contributed to the victory over Turkey with two wins. "This is a team with the experience, ability and passion to win this tie. Hard work and a good team spirit will also be key to a successful start to our 2011 campaign," said Smith. "I'm really looking forward to the match and I am sure the home fans will get behind the team to ensure a good result." The winner of the tie will face the winner of Ireland v Luxembourg on 8-10 July in the second round.
