Nenad Zimonjic and Daniel Nestor
Zimonjic and Nestor finish off a highly impressive week at the O2 Arena

Daniel Nestor and Nenad Zimonjic beat Mahesh Bhupathi and Max Mirnyi 7-6 (8-6) 6-2 to be crowned doubles champions at the ATP World Tour Finals.

With service dictating, the Canadian and Serbian looked in trouble in the tie-break before edging the first set.

Set two followed in similar fashion but at 3-3 the serve of Bhuphati faltered and his opponents pounced to break.

Zimonjic stayed cool to serve out for a comfortable victory as the second seeds repeated their success from 2008.

Nestor and Zimonjic, who saved one match point to defeat arch rivals Bob Bryan and Mike Bryan in Saturday's semi-finals, were pushed all the way in the opening set before easing through to triumph in this end-of-season tournament for the second time in three years.

There was plenty of high-class tennis to enjoy in London's O2 Arena on Sunday despite this match acting as a taster for the evening's main event between Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.

606: DEBATE

Bhupathi and Mirnyi, without a title this year before winning the Paribas Masters two weeks ago, looked in great form in the first set as the match went with serve over the opening 12 games.

The 38-year-old Bhupathi from India in particular exhibited a beautiful array of forehand and backhand winners to trouble his opponents and he can count himself unlucky not to have grabbed the first set.

Again, there seemed to be no let-up with service as the opening tie-break went to 4-3 without any surprises.

However, Bhuphati pulled out two crushing blows, including one terrific cross-court winner from a tight angle, to hand the third seeds the initiative.

The serve of partner Mirnyi wobbled though and having enjoyed a set point, the pair had to watch their opponents serve out to swiftly take the first set.

Serving continued to dominate with the score at 3-3 in the second set but for once Bhuphati's errors helped the momentum swing towards his opponents.

He may have saved one break point on his serve but the pressure seemed to mount as he dished up a double-fault to lose the game.

A few minutes later the simple task of holding serve was completed by Zimonjic to wrap up the victory.

It was a magnificent way of ending the season for Nestor and Zimonjic, although the Canadian can now look forward to going for future trophies alongside the player he beat on Sunday - Mirnyi.
