Baltacha is due to represent Scotland at the Commonwealth Games |
British number one Elena Baltacha went out of the Korea Open with a second-round loss to eighth seed Agnes Szavay. The Hungarian came through 6-3 7-5 in the rain-delayed match and goes on to face Japan's Kimiko Date Krumm in the quarter-finals. After rain washed out play on Tuesday, the biggest shock on Wednesday saw Ana Ivanovic lose to Vera Dushevina. Baltacha is now due to head to India to represent Scotland at the Commonwealth Games in Delhi. In Thursday's other matches in Seoul, top seed Nadia Petrova beat American Vania King 6-3 6-4, and former world number one Dinara Safina ousted third seed Maria Kirilenko 6-2 6-3. Krumm, who turns 40 next week, defeated 19-year-old second seed Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova 6-2 6-1.
