Top seed Caroline Wozniacki reinforced her Grand Slam credentials with a blistering 6-0 6-0 second-round victory on day four of the US Open. The 20-year-old Dane needed only 47 minutes to beat Chinese Taipei's Kai-Chen Chang and set up a third-round clash against Yung-Jan Chan. Fourth seed Jelena Jankovic came through a testing match 6-4 3-6 6-2 against Croatia's Mirjana Lucic. Maria Sharapova beat Iveta Benesova 6-1 6-2 in the night match. "Last year here, the position I was in, I was trying to see where my game was, so it's nice to be back on the court and not having to worry about anything other than trying to win," said the Russian. Sharapova will next face qualifier Beatrice Capra after the 18-year-old American enjoyed a superb 7-5 2-6 6-3 victory against 18th seed Aravane Rezai.  | I've been playing really great tennis. Capra, ranked 351 places lower than the Frenchwoman, was making her Grand Slam debut and recorded her first victory against a top-75 player. And Capra revealed that the efforts of compatriot Melanie Oudin in reaching the quarter-finals as a 17-year-old last year had been on her mind. "Melanie is such an inspiration to me," she said. "Last year I watched every match of hers. "I played her the year before in the juniors and then she was making the quarter-finals of the US Open." Wozniacki was in no mood to hang around as she swept past Chang in Arthur Ashe Stadium. "I've been playing really great tennis. I'm feeling good, so no worries. For me it's just about winning and getting through to the next rounds." Over in Louis Armstrong Stadium, Jankovic came through a feisty encounter with 1999 Wimbledon semi-finalist Lucic. Playing in only her second Grand Slam since 2002, the Croatian received a medical timeout in the second set for what appeared to be a blister but still managed to lead by a break at 3-2 in the third, only for Jankovic to reel off four straight games. "I'm just happy to get through - she gave me a really hard time," said Jankovic. "It's a step forward from the first round. I think I played much better but I have to pick it up. I'm working on it." Ninth seed Agnieszka Radwanska was a high-profile casualty, the Pole going down 2-6 6-1 6-4 to China's Peng Shaui in a lengthy match on Grandstand. Earlier, Russia's Svetlana Kuznetsova, the 2004 champion and 11th seed, eased past Anastasija Sevastova of Latvia 6-2 6-3. Wimbledon finalist Vera Zvonareva also booked her place in the next round with a 6-1 7-6 (7-5) win over Sabine Lisicki, and Belgium's 15th seed Yanina Wickmayer had a 6-4 7-5 win over Germany's Julia Goerges. But Spain's 22nd seed Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez lost in straight sets to Switzerland's Patty Schnyder 7-6 6-4.
