Jankovic is still looking for a first Grand Slam title |
World number two Jelena Jankovic plans to be back on court in little over a week after retiring with an ankle injury at the Slovenia Open. She was 6-1 2-1 up against Anastasiya Yakimova on Thursday when she stepped awkwardly while chasing a ball. Jankovic lost the second set to the Belarus qualifier and retired in the third but hopes to return to action in San Diego, which starts on 31 July. "Rolled my ankle a little," Serb Jankovic said on her Twitter page. | 606: DEBATE |
"Will be OK. Just a little disappointing. Will rehab and get ready for San Diego." The tournament in Slovenia was her first since Wimbledon, where she retired in the fourth round with a back injury.
