First up for their entertainment is top seed Serena Williams' third-round match against Slovakian 21-year-old Dominika Cibulkova
They were treated to a trademark display of power tennis as the American wrapped up the opening set in just 18 minutes. Cibulkova provided more resistance in the second but was eventually dispatched 6-0 7-5
Over on Court One, Robin Soderling was dishing out similarly brutal treatment to Thomaz Bellucci, the world number 24 from Brazil
Bellucci stretched every sinew to make an impression on the recent French Open finalist, but Soderling was in dominant form
After three sets of savage hitting, Soderling prevailed, clinching a 6-4 6-2 7-5 win to book a place in the fourth round
Next up on Court One was another big hitter, the 2004 Wimbledon champion and winner of three grand slam titles, Maria Sharapova
Standing between Sharapova and the fourth round was Barbora Zahlavova Strycova of the Czech Republic, the world number 68
Strycova gave the former champion a stern test, but Sharapova won in straight sets to set up a rematch of the 2004 final against Serena Williams
Back on Centre Court, the world number one Rafael Nadal had his hands full against Philipp Petzschner of Germany, the 33rd seed
Few expected Petzschner to cause Nadal, the winner of seven majors, undue problems. But the German shocked the Centre Court crowd by winning a third-set tiebreak to go ahead by two sets to one
As if Nadal didn't have enough on his plate, he received an official warning from the umpire, who felt that he had received coaching from his uncle, Toni, up in the players' box
Ultimately, though - and despite earlier receiving treatment on a thigh injury - Nadal ran out a 6-4 4-6 6-7 6-2 6-3 winner. The 2008 champion will now play Paul-Henri Mathieu in the fourth round
Another winner was Denmark's Caroline Wozniacki, the third seed, who saw off the Russian Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova 7-5 6-4 to take her appointed place in the last 16
As the daylight fades, the crowds on Henman Hill grow in anticipation of Andy Murray's clash with French world number 32 Gilles Simon

The second follows inside the hour and the world number four, who is yet to drop a set in this year's tournament, looks well course to make the last 16 whilst keeping that record intact
After seeing three break points go begging earlier in the third set, a decisive breakthrough in game nine is gratefully received by mother Judy and girlfriend Kim Sears
