Jankovic has 11 wins on the WTA Tour

Jelena Jankovic was made to work hard before beating Alisa Kleybanova in the quarter-finals of the BNP Paribas Open.

The Serbian sixth seed was broken only once, but still needed an hour and 42 minutes to close out a 6-4 6-4 victory.

Jankovic will next play eighth-seeded Australian Samantha Stosur who beat Spain's Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez 6-3 7-6 (9-7) in the last eight.

Second seed Caroline Wozniacki and fifth seed Agnieszka Radwanska advanced to the last four on Wednesday.
