The temperature is rising on Rod Laver Arena as seventh seed Andy Roddick gets started against 14th seed Marin Cilic in the first of the men's quarter-finals
Roddick is in trouble early on as he calls for the trainer to massage his neck and shoulder at several changeovers
The only difficulty for Cilic is a run-in with a line judge as he sweeps into a two-set lead
But, despite his injury problems, Roddick embarks on an unlikely fightback, taking the next two sets to take the match into a decider - and force Andy Murray and Rafael Nadal to wait to take to the court
Roddick has three break-points at the start of the fifth set too but Cilic survives and regains his composure before going on to clinch a 7-6 (7-4) 6-3 3-6 2-6 6-3 win in just under four hours
In a lively match, Cilic is forced to take evasive action to avoid colliding with a line judge
Cilic holds on to reach his first Grand Slam semi-final, and show his exhaustion at the end of another gruelling five-set match

The tension seems to be getting to Nadal as Murray gains the upper hand in their extremely close-fought quarter-final tie
The players swap breaks in the second set which goes to a tie-break - but that is not close at all as Murray races through it 7-1 to open up a two-set lead
Early in the third set Nadal suddenly walks to his chair and calls for a medical time-out because of a problem with his right knee. After a lengthy stoppage he is able to resume
However Nadal is only able to play two more games before retiring injured. He receives words of consolation from Murray whose 6-3 7-6 (7-1) 3-0 win takes him through to his first Australian Open semi-final
The early finish gives Murray the chance to chat with Hatton, who watched the match from the players' box
