Soderling lies ninth in the ATP rankings

Swedish top seed Robin Soderling kept his hopes of reaching the ATP World Tour Finals alive by reaching the semi-finals of the Stockholm Open.

World number 10 Soderling, the only remaining seed, beat Spaniard Guillermo Garcia-Lopez 7-6 6-4.

Soderling next faces Marcos Baghdatis of Cyprus, who defeated Frenchman Arnaud Clement 6-4 6-4.

Brazilian Thomaz Bellucci will play Belgian Olivier Rochus in the other semi-final.
