"I was thinking that maybe I should have a baby and then I'll come back faster. That was my observation, so I'm thinking about it."
Serena Williams has taken note of Kim Clijsters' impressive comeback after taking two years out to have a baby. "I only just started watching tennis at the start of this year, to be honest. I didn't really have that much time with a baby running around, and I was happy just to sleep when she was sleeping."
Clijsters admits that tennis took a backseat after the birth of daughter Jada. "I just said, 'OK, I'm going to hit two aces here, four aces actually.' That's pretty much how I felt and I did it. I thought, 'this is ridiculous. I've got to get these aces and get myself out of this situation.'"

Mixed doubles champion Travis Parrott only learns in the press conference that partner Carly Gullickson had originally planned to play with Rajeev Ram. "I like to play here in US and I like hard courts. I like this tournament. I like everything."
Juan Martin del Potro is a happy bunny after reaching the semi-finals. "Yeah. I not talk about that."
Del Potro is less happy when asked if he watched Argentina's World Cup defeat in Paraguay. "When I was young I played soccer better than tennis. I don't know what I am doing here."
