Cavaday happy ahead of Wimbledon

Kent's Naomi Cavaday insists she has not peaked too soon, despite playing some of the best tennis of her career in the lead up to Wimbledon.

The 20-year-old beat 2008 Wimbledon quarter-finalist Tamarine Tanasugarn on her way to the third round of the Aegon Classic in Birmingham.

"I know I've got more in me than that match and me and my coach are both positive about it," said Cavaday.

"There are areas to work and improve and I'll do that."

She added: "Hopefully when I come back for the qualifying at Wimbledon I'll be stronger and hopefully I'll do really well."

Cavaday has been drawn against seeded players for the last two years in the first round at the All England Club.

In 2007, she had two match points against former world number one Martina Hingis, before losing in three sets.

And she gave three-time champion Venus Williams a scare last year, when she took her to a tie-break in the first set.
