Magdalena Rybarikova claimed her first career title |
Slovakia's Magdalena Rybarikova won her first career title after beating Na Li in straight sets in the Aegon Classic final at Edgbaston on Sunday. The 20-year-old ranked 58th in the world needed just 73 minutes to despatch her Chinese opponent. Rybarikova cruised past the number four seed in the opening set claiming it 6-0 but needed a tie-break in the second to earn victory, winning 7-6 (7-2). The Slovakian had been seeded 13th ahead of the pre-Wimbledon warm-up. "It's a great feeling, it's definitely the best moment of my career," said Rybarikova. "I was nervous, yes, but not in the first set. I was okay to start with, and then in the second set I got very nervous. But now it's absolutely great. It's a dream."
