Querrey's big serve will be his main weapon against Murray |
Britain's Andy Murray will face Sam Querrey in the second round of the Paris Masters after the American was handed victory in his opening match. Marcos Baghdatis, Querrey's first-round opponent, withdrew because of a back injury in the final set when trailing narrowly 7-5 6-7 (5-7) 3-2. "I felt a sharp pain and I didn't want to take any risks," the Cypriot said. The in-form Murray, who retained the St Petersburg title last weekend, received a bye through to the second round. If Murray comes through his match against Querrey, he is set to face either Juan Martin del Potro or David Nalbandian in the quarter-finals and Wimbledon champion Rafael Nadal in the semis. | 606: DEBATE | Meanwhile, Nicolas Kiefer beat Ivo Karlovic 6-4 7-5 in the first round and there were also wins for Croatia's Marin Cilic and Tomas Berdych of the Czech Republic.
