(Not all contributions can be used)Third set: Murray 6-4 Wawrinka A superb game from Murray rounds things off much as they started - and we'll just forget about the mid-match mood, eh? Two thumping serves and a forehand winner help him to victory and a clash with Novak Djokovic on Friday. Murray 5-4 Wawrinka Murray sends one skywards off the frame before Wawrinka takes a low-key game with a deft volley. So here we go, Murray to try and serve out the match.... Murray 5-3 Wawrinka There is a debate over a call but fortunately Murray is 40-0 up at the time, so there are no fireworks and the Scot serves out confidently. Murray 4-3 Wawrinka Well, would you believe it? Would you? It's true - Murray has broken and is two games from a victory that looked very unlikely a few minutes ago. Wawrinka's level has dropped as the finish line approaches and a couple of errors hand Murray the game. Murray 3-3 Wawrinka Murray's third double-fault of the day takes him to 30-30 and he is fortunate that Wawrinka goes for too much with a backhand on the following point. Murray holds and it's edgy stuff from both men at the moment. Murray 2-3 Wawrinka Everyone takes cover when Murray wallops a return into the net at deuce, but fortunately he remains calm and just chunters away to himself. He then chases down a Wawrinka volley and hits a searing cross-court backhand winner. The forehand is faltering now though, and it lets him down as Wawrinka takes the game. 2038: "First time I've seen Murray get really agitated and frustrated in quite a while, actually probably since he lost to Stan in Hamburg." From Pigu on 606 Murray 2-2 Wawrinka Murray holds it together well enough to get back on level terms and it appears as though the storm in his head has passed, for the moment. Murray 1-2 Wawrinka "How can you play tennis like this?!?!!?" screams a furious Murray after the second point. He should come and watch me play, it comes quite naturally. For all the outbursts the match remains desperately tight and Murray has a half-chance at deuce, but Wawrinka comes through. At one point, Wawrinka fires a perfect ace down the centre line and Murray screams to himself, "Use you brain!!!" Understandable, maybe, but it's hard to see the value of getting worked up by an opponent's ace. Murray 1-1 Wawrinka Disaster looms for Murray. You know he's in trouble when he unveils one of his classic drop shots, which lands in the bottom of the net, and Wawrinka than smacks a winner for 30-40 and break point. The Swiss screams in delight, Murray in anger - it's all go. Every point is followed by a "C'mon!" or a shake of the head by Murray, who saves break point number three before edging a vital game. Murray 0-1 Wawrinka This time it's Wawrinka who goes for a comfort break between sets, leaving a glum Murray to mooch about on the court as though he's waiting for his mum to pick him up after school. The Brit wins a fine opening point but Wawrinka takes control from then on, moving to game point with a tremendous volley before closing out. Seven games in a row for the Swiss.
Second set: Murray 0-6 Wawrinka And that is the bagel. Murray has dramatically lost all form and momentum and will need to get his mojo back, sharpish. Murray 0-5 Wawrinka Wawrinka holds to love and Murray doesn't look too interested in this set now. Murray 0-4 Wawrinka If Wawrinka's got a dodgy knee, I'll have two please. He's moving really well at the moment, smacking a superb running forehand and a blistering return winner on his way to a second break. Meanwhile, Andy Roddick has lost to Marin Cilic in three sets. Tough times for A-Rod. 1959: "Murray has suddenly started hitting high floaty forehands instead of the flat powerful ones he had in the first set." From Cogen86 on 606 Murray 0-3 Wawrinka Wawrinka races through a love-service game and we look on course for a third set. Murray 0-2 Wawrinka Inevitably, after missing two early chances to go ahead in the set, Murray drops serve. He saves the first break point but goes wide on the second and, from nowhere, Wawrinka is right back in it. Murray 0-1 Wawrinka After a brief departure for a 'comfort break', Murray returns in similarly focused mood to the first set. A brilliant lob has Wawrinka struggling and the Briton returns the smash with a forehand winner for 15-40 and two break points. The Swiss does superbly to get himself out of trouble and it's a chance missed for Murray.
First set: Murray 6-2 Wawrinka Murray chases down a drop shot and finds a winner on the first point. The serve is working well enough but it is the Murray forehand that is running the show - a spectacular angled winner giving him the set in 34 minutes. Murray 5-2 Wawrinka Wawrinka is in charge at 30-0 but Murray comes up with yet another superb forehand into the corner on his way to 30-30. The Brit nets a backhand and a forehand though and Wawrinka stays alive in this set. Murray 5-1 Wawrinka Murray faces the first sign of danger at 15-30 but responds with a high volley and a crunching forehand from behind the baseline. Another big forehand seals the game and he is in great form at the moment. Murray 4-1 Wawrinka Some cheer at last for Wawrinka as he saves two break points with a sharp volley and an ace. Another ace wraps up the game, gets the scoreboard moving for Wawrinka, and appears to have roused the snoozing crowd. He then has a very quiet conversation with the trainer, who when asked if carrying on will make the knee worse replies, "I don't think so." 1928: Team Murray is gathered in the stands, with girlfriend Kim Sears looking suitably relaxed as her man does the business on court. 1924: Wawrinka calls for the trainer and it appears to be his right knee that is the problem. He had surgery on it last year so this is a worry for the Swiss. He needs a time-out so the knee can be massaged. Murray 4-0 Wawrinka The atmosphere may be a little subdued but Murray is looking very sharp, smacking a beautiful off-forehand into the corner for 40-0. A desperate Wawrinka matches him with an equally fierce forehand to get back to 40-30 down but Murray holds on. Murray 3-0 Wawrinka Wawrinka has made a woeful start, spraying balls all over the place and playing right into Murray's hands. The Scot is quite happy just to keep the ball in play and wait for the error. He scrambles superbly at 15-40 up and an exasperated Wawrinka nets another backhand. Murray 2-0 Wawrinka Well, this is all very straightforward. Murray thumps a forehand down the line for a love service game. Murray 1-0 Wawrinka This one should be tight as it's the world number 10 (Wawrinka) against the world number nine (Murray). Wawrinka makes successive backhand errors to go to 30-40, and Murray gets the early break when the Swiss goes long. It's hard to be that accurate from Shepherds Bush but conditions look a little overcast and breezy. As opposed to west London, which is balmy. 1906: Murray wins the toss and elects to receive. The winner will play defending champion Novak Djokovic, after the Serbian earlier beat Robin Soderling in straight sets. 1900: Evening all. Ignore the glorious sunshine, chinking of glasses and gales of laughter from outside your window. They will all regret it in the morning. We have serious business to attend to as Andy Murray takes on Stanislas Wawrinka for a place in the quarter-finals of the Toronto Masters. Some background: Murray and Wawrinka have met five times, with the Swiss holding a 3-2 advantage but Murray leading 2-1 on hard courts. Wawrinka is enjoying the best period of his career to date, and is currently ranked 10th having slipped one place from his career-high of ninth last month. The 23-year-old reached the final of the Masters Series in Rome, where he beat Murray along the way, and the last eight in Miami.
