Well, I've made my debut in the BBC commentary box and it was a fantastic experience.

I did a couple of days' training before Wimbledon with Paul Davies, the executive producer, and Sue Barker, so it wasn't completely new to me.

We went into some studios and did a few dry runs to have a look at things, and it was very beneficial to see how things look on camera and how things sound.

On Tuesday I got to share a commentary box with John McEnroe for the Andy Murray v Fabrice Santoro match, and working with Mac was fantastic - he's never short of an opinion!

There was a good deal of banter and he was giving me a fair amount of stick; I really enjoyed it. Andrew Castle is someone else I have known for years, so we complement each other and I felt it went really well.

Before the match, we spoke to Sue alongside Centre Court and I did say that standing there, it was the first time in nine months I would have said, 'Okay, let's go and hit some balls out there.'

But that's probably the only court in the world that I would have wanted to do it on. If me and Mac had had a couple of racquets we could have had a quick hit.

The whole atmosphere is great and it's certainly brought back a lot of good memories for me. But I've had my time as a player, and I'm very happy to be sitting where I am now.

I've learnt so far that less is more - there's no point is saying something for the hell of it.

You want to make sure that if you're saying something you are really trying to tell the viewer something they might have not have known before.

Fortunately, the transition from player to commentary box hasn't proved difficult. I never envisaged that I'd have so much fun. I really don't miss playing at all, in fact I've hardly played.

As for the future, they might not have me back next year. We will have to wait and see, but I've enjoyed it so far.

I'm looking forward to working with everyone I can. I'm hoping to work with Greg Rusedski at some point but I think we'd need someone else to help us. We'd need a professional to help link us in and make sure we didn't screw up!

As for the tournament itself, it's early days but I still can't see the men's winner not being either Federer or Nadal. It's a challenge for all the other players to try and stop them.
