Bogdanovic and Baker will hope to impress at Wimbledon |
Jamie Baker and Alex Bogdanovic head a list of six British players handed wildcards into this year's Wimbledon. The duo will play in the men's singles, while Elena Baltacha, Katie O'Brien, Melanie South and Naomi Cavaday are given passes into the women's singles. Three more men, including former semi-finalist Xavier Malisse, and two women have also been handed passes. The final two men's wildcards will not be awarded but the final women's one will be given out in due course. | 606: DEBATE |
As a result the final two direct acceptances go to Vincent Spadea of the USA and France's Thierry Ascione. France's Jeremy Chardy and Canada's Frank Dancevic are the two other men to be handed wildcards to Wimbledon, while Poland's Urszula Radwanska and Spain's Carla Suarez Navarro will compete in the women's singles. World number 11 Andy Murray is expected to lead British hopes of success at SW19.
