Keothavong falls in maiden semi

Keothavong has looked in impressive form in India

Britain's Anne Keothavong - contesting her first WTA Tour event semi-final - lost to Ukraine's Mariya Koryttseva at the Kolkata Open in India.

Koryttseva overcame early resistance from Briton's number two Keothavong, 24, before winning the error-strewn first semi-final 7-6 6-3.

In the other semi-final, Russian Maria Kirilenko beat world number 11 Daniela Hantuchova of Slovakia 4-6 6-2 6-1.

Kirilenko will now contest her first WTA final of the year.
