Murray won the Wimbledon mixed doubles title with Jelena Jankovic |
Britain's Jamie Murray and American partner Liezel Huber cruised into the semi-finals of the mixed doubles at the US Open on Monday. Wimbledon champion Murray and world doubles number one Huber were far too strong for Poland's Agnieska Radwanska and Mariusz Fyrstenberg.
Murray - who partnered Jelena Jankovic at Wimbledon - and Huber won 6-1 6-2.
They will face American Meghann Shaughnessy and Leander Paes of India in the last four.
Murray told BBC Radio 5live: "It couldn't have gone any better. We played very well and dominated from start to finish and now for the semi-final.
"We played well today. We were both very sharp at the net."
And talking of her new partner, Huber said: "He's great - I wouldn't say it if I didn't think so and he deserves all the success he has achieved so far and will achieve.
"I'm not trying to think about it (our partnership) too much. We just kind of play our game and go about our ways and I listen to Jamie although he is younger.
"Normally I take the lead out there but he takes the lead and makes me comfortable and confident. We have fun out there also."
Top seeds in the men's doubles, Bob and Mike Bryan, suffered a surprise defeat when they were beaten 7-5 6-4 in the quarter-finals by 10th seeds Simon Aspelin and Julian Knowle.
