Britain's Graeme Dyce successfully negotiated the first round of the boys' singles at the US Open, beating Ilija Vucic of Serbia in three sets.

The 18-year-old Scot dropped the first set but levelled in the second and then stormed through the decider for a 3-6 6-4 6-1 win.

But David Rice was beaten 6-3 6-2 by Lawrence Formentera of the US.

Dan Cox and Dan Evans are also in the boys' singles while Tara Moore plays in the girls' singles.
