GB coach John Lloyd gives some advice to Andy Murray

The tie will take place from 21-23 September, with the winners going through to the competition's top tier.

The tie cannot be played on Centre Court because it is undergoing major redevelopment works.

"It is a tough draw but I'm delighted that it is going to be played at Wimbledon," said captain John Lloyd.

"It is a fantastic venue and will help give us the edge against what is sure to be a very talented Croatian side."

Britain sealed their place in September's play-offs by beating Holland 4-1 in the Euro-Africa Zone Group One tie at the NEC in Birmingham in April.

They lost their last Davis Cup tie at Wimbledon, suffering a humiliating 3-2 loss to Ecuador in 2000.

Following the retirement of Greg Rusedski, Andy Murray and Tim Henman will lead the British challenge against the highly-ranked Croatians, who can call on Ivan Ljubicic and former Wimbledon semi-finalist Mario Ancic.

Lloyd added: "Given the strength of our team, it is a tie we are fully capable of winning.

"After the success of Birmingham we are really pleased we have another home tie.

"I am sure tennis fans will get behind the team and come along to support the players at what promises to be one of the highlights of the sporting calendar."
