Henman returned to Davis Cup action with two singles victories |
Tim Henman secured a 4-1 victory for Great Britain over the Netherlands in the Davis Cup with a straightforward 6-2 6-3 win against Igor Sijsling. Jamie Murray lost 4-6 7-6 (7-0) 6-2 to Robin Haase in the first of Sunday's two dead singles rubbers in Birmingham.
But Henman then gave the sizeable crowd the win they craved and also claimed only his third win of the year.
Great Britain now await Wednesday's draw for the World Group play-offs which take place in September.
Another victory would see John Lloyd's men back in the Davis Cup elite group of 16 nations.

Britain face numerous possible opponents including a home tie against Chile, Australia, Switzerland, Austria, Slovakia or Mexico, or an away tie with Romania, Italy, Israel, Serbia or Thailand.
If Croatia, Belarus, Macedonia, Georgia, Peru, Canada, Brazil, Japan, Uzbekistan or Korea are drawn with Great Britain, the venue will be decided by drawing lots.
And GB captain Lloyd is brimming with confidence ahead of the draw on Wednesday.
"Chile away is a bit nasty, Switzerland at home would be tough if Federer played obviously," said Lloyd.
"A home tie would be great and Austria or Australia wouldn't scare us too much.
"There's a few nasty ones but I don't think there's that many teams, particularly on our home ground, that would like to face Andy, Tim and now Jamie in that kind of form.

"I'm very confident, I think we've got a great shot against anybody."
However, Greg Rusedski's retirement puts extra pressure on Andy Murray and Tim Henman, and Lloyd is hoping one of the other squad members can push for a starting place.
"We had Jamie Baker and Richard Bloomfield here this week and there were a couple of other players that were close to getting in that group," said Lloyd.
"They've been around and seen it, they know what's expected of them now, they've seen the work ethic of these boys.
"All these guys are fighting for a spot. Now with Greg leaving they know there is a definite spot available."
Henman was delighted with his return to the Davis Cup after three years away and confirmed he would still be avaialble for future ties.
"It was a great weekend," Henman told his website. "On paper we were the favourites but we still needed to do a job and I thought we did that really well.
"Hopefully I can stay fit and healthy and help with my experience because if we can get a half-decent draw we all feel we can get back into the World Group, which is obviously the goal."
