Murray is on course for a place in the world top 10 |
Andy Murray says he is almost certain of overcoming ankle and hip injuries in time to take his place in the Miami Masters Series event this week. Murray picked up the injuries last week at Indian Wells, where his semi-final appearance saw him move up to a career-high 12th in the world rankings.
"I'll take a couple of days off, see the physios, and hopefully I'll be OK," he said. "The injuries are not too bad.
"I might ask for my first match to be on Friday; I'm 90% sure I'll be fine."
Murray admitted with hindsight that he probably should have pulled out of his Indian Wells semi-final with Novak Djokovic after getting hurt in the quarter-final against Tommy Haas.

"I didn't know how I was going to feel until I got on court, and I had a bit of an unprofessional decision on my part to go on," he said.
"The older you get, the more you learn that it's not always about just going on.
"Hopefully I'll learn for next time that it's best to be cautious rather than going out and playing the match."
Defeat to Djokovic meant Murray missed the chance of reaching the world's top 10 for the first time in his career, an honour that went to the Serb instead.
But the Scot has another good chance of boosting his ranking in Miami as last year he went out there in the first round.
