Mauresmo will slip one place down the rankings on Monday | World number three Amelie Mauresmo has withdrawn from the Sony Ericsson Open in Miami, which starts on Wednesday. The Frenchwoman will be out for a month after having surgery to remove her appendix on Sunday. Mauresmo, who is set to drop to four in the world rankings on Monday, has not played since 24 February after choosing to rest ahead of Miami. Her last match was a 6-4 7-5 defeat by Belgian Justin Henin in the final of the Dubai Open.
