McEnroe will take part in the Belfast event from 22-25 February |
John McEnroe will make his first-ever appearance in Belfast when the 2007 BlackRock Tour of Champions gets under way next Thursday. McEnroe will be joined by Pat Cash, Wayne Ferreira, Cedric Pioline, Henri Leconte, Jeremy Bates, Anders Jarryd and Carl-Uwe Steeb in Belfast.
The tour culminates with the BlackRock Masters in London in December.
"It's going to be exciting for me to come to Northern Ireland for the first time," said 47-year-old McEnroe.
"Playing in events like this gives me a chance to show that I can still play at a high level and provide some entertainment as well.
"People who come to watch will see a very competitive event. That's very important to me.
"I don't want to be involved in any pre-determined result and don't want it to be just about me yelling at the umpire."
Paul Haarhuis reclaimed the Masters title last year by defeating Goran Ivanisevic 7-6 5-7 10-7 at the Royal Albert Hall.
This year's finale will take place from 4-9 December.
