SECOND SET
Williams 6-1 6-0 Sequera
It's all over. In fact, the only consolation for Sequera is that it's over. In less than 40 minutes. Ouch. Serena seals the break to 15 with an atypical drop shot and Sequera just looks happy to be out of there. Serena's mother is so uninspired she neglects to even applaud as she chats away to a friend in the stand. How rude. Federer-Safin is up next folks... I don't see that being quite as one-sided.
Williams 6-1 5-0 Sequera
It's almost painful to watch, this. Unless you're keen for the matches to be wrapped up asap so you can get out and about in town with your mates of course. Which, as we've already established, is certainly not me, nah-uh. There's only so many ways you can say 'power', 'bludgeons', 'blasts' and 'smashes' but that's what Serena is doing to Sequera's game time and again. Another hold and Federer will be doing his squat-thrusts in the changing room as we speak I reckon.
"This is what I call batting practice."
BBC Sport pundit Martina Navratilova
Williams 6-1 4-0 Sequera
In the build-up to this tournament, the BBC's own Clare Balding tipped Serena for a great run in this tournament having "seen her survive a groping on the Jonathan Ross show". It might not be the greatest basis for backing a future Wimbledon champion, but Serena is certainly cruising into round four - another break to love, with Sequera still making errors, and the Venezuelan is not a happy bunny at all.
Williams 6-1 3-0 Sequera
Sequera blasts and bludgeons her way to a break! Erm, not really... Serena holds to 15 with a couple more aces and a couple more forehand winners. To say this is one-sided would be like saying Sequera could sneak into an under-14 bouncy castle disco. In that it would be right on the money. If you know what I mean.
"Sequera might be a little embarrassed at the moment. She's just outmatched."
BBC Sport pundit Martina Navratilova
Williams 6-1 2-0 Sequera
Serena launches both barrells at a backhand pass and volleyed winner to move to 30-15, but Sequera draws level with another delicate drop shot that has Serena scrambling in vain. It's as good as it gets for Sequera, as another couple of unforced errors hand Serena the break.
Williams 6-1 1-0 Sequera
Serena finds the net with the court gaping, bringing a weird whimper from the American that sounds like a balloon slowly being let down through the neck (seriously, pull the sides apart and it sounds like a high-pitched grown, ok?). A rare rally goes Sequera's way and the Venezuelan then brings up three break points with a superb forehand return over the high part of the net into the corner. But Serena saves them all - smashing the last right into the corner to underline her superior power - and, aided by a 120mph ace, she sees out the game.
FIRST SET
"Well that was all very comfortable for Serena. Lest we forget, she has held all four grand slams at the same time - although it was not a grand slam - so you have to say Sequera is a little out of her depth out there."
BBC Sport pundit Martina Navratilova
Williams 6-1 Sequera
I don't want to go on about the delicate Sequera's size, but it's always a bad sign when you're smaller than the ball boys. Having said that, one of them by the net looks like he's snuck in from a Roald Dahl novel -the BFG is on ball retrieval duties ladies and gentleman. Serena keeps him out of action for the most part, though, firing two big forehand winners across court and then approaching the net aggressively to seal the set without alarm.
Williams 5-1 Sequera
Another couple of errors from Serena, who goes wide with two pass attempts to help Sequera move 30-0 up. More like Serena for the rest of the game, though, who fires a third big ace down the 'T' and serves-volleys to hold well.
Williams 4-1 Sequera
Williams, clearly sensing the crowd's lack of enthusiasm for a one-sided bludg-a-thon, lets Sequera have the first two points with accurate passes. The American then batters a couple of cross-court winners to bring up break point soon after, but a fine Sequera drop shot brings up deuce and the Venezuelan fires down two unreturnable serves to bring up her first game. Praise be.
Williams 4-0 Sequera
There is no other word for it, this is just bullying. Poor old Sequera not only looks 12 years old, but she's being pushed around the court like one as well. The Venezuelan can only return one of Serena's booming serves and it's another hold to love.
"Serena looks super intense out there and is warming into these Championships nicely I think."
BBC Sport pundit Martina Navratilova
Williams 3-0 Sequera
Not only is Sequera displaying some obvious Centre-Court nerves, but Serena is not helping matters by battering shot after shot past her on the charge. She brings up three break points by levelling an exocet at Sequera's head at the net which drops in - no sign of mercy so far from the American - and she breaks to love when a Sequera pass goes long.
Williams 2-0 Sequera
Richard Williams, Serena's father, spends the mid-game break taking pictures of his daughter. Kind of like a proud dad on sports day bless him. Sequera, rather optimistically, has donned a pair of sunglasses. It does not help, though, as a fine backhand pass down the line helps Serena on her way to a hold to love. This already looks ominous for the Venezuelan.
Williams 1-0 Sequera
A half decent start from Sequera, who's a clear hark back to the days of yore - wooden rackets and the like. She looks to be all about placement and movement, rather than power and pace. A clash of styles then if you will. Serena still looks to be shaking off her lengthy wait in the dressing room, firing long and wide on a couple of attempted passes, and wasting two early break points at advantage. A favourable net cord helps her to a third and she takes it.
1735: The players are out and, this being the first time I've seen Milagros Sequera in action, I have to say the first thing that stands out is the stature of the two ladies. Serena, a picture of athleticism and power, looks gargantuan compared to the slight and twee Venezuelan. This could be brutal. And we're about to start...
1733: After the Tipsarevic-Gonzalez marathon, I have to tell you some of my colleagues are hoping for a swift couple of turns from Serena and then Federer so that they can get out on the razz sharpish on this fine Friday night. Not me. I'm hoping for a couple of marathons. Long drawn out matches full of twists, turns and intrigue. Sort of.
1729: Let's have a look at the girls' route to the third round. Serena has yet to drop a set in beating Lourdes Dominguez-Lino and Alicia Molik, while Sequera saw off Julia Schruff in straight sets before a three-set victory over Sam Stosur.
The pair have met just once before, Serena winning their French Open clash earlier this year 6-0 7-6 (7-3).
1724: Well well well. About four hours ago, the feeling in the office was that I might kick this off some time mid-afternoon. Janko Tipsarevic and Fernando Gonzalez had something to say about that didn't they? Serena and Williams and Milagros Sequera have been made to wait for their Centre Court encounter... will the wait ensure rustiness or inspiration? We'll find out soon enough.
