Karlovic too strong for Clement
Ivo Karlovic
Karlovic was the last player to make it into the draw automatically
Ivo Karlovic won the men's singles title in Nottingham, fighting back to beat Arnaud Clement 3-6 6-4 6-4.

One break of serve was enough to decide each of the first two sets.

In the decider, Karlovic took advantage as Clement appeared to tire and made the decisive break in the 10th game to seal the title.

"To tell the truth I didn't really expect to win," said Karlovic. "I came here to play a few matches, I was the last player in the draw.

"I was injured last year for six months and I did not really have very good preparations for this year but so far it is my best year.

"In the first set I was a little bit nervous. I missed a few easy volleys but after that I was more relaxed and concentrated more and that was the only difference.

"I felt I was playing well the whole match and the whole week and somebody has to win."
