Top seed Jelena Jankovic progressed into the Auckland Classic final when Camille Pin retired injured after just three games of their semi-final. The Serbian raced to a 3-0 lead before French player Pin was forced to concede defeat with a thigh injury. Jankovic will meet fourth seed Vera Zvonareva in the final after the Russian beat American Jill Craybas. Zvonareva broke twice to take the first set but had to come from behind in the second before completing a 6-3 7-5 win.
