Federer narrowly failed to make a clean sweep of the Grand Slams |
Roger Federer and Justine Henin-Hardenne have been named the 2006 ITF World Champions. Both players reached all four Grand Slam finals this season, with Federer winning three, and Henin-Hardenne victorious at the French Open.
Federer, 25, becomes only the fourth player to win the title for three consecutive years.
Henin-Hardenne, 24, beat Amelie Mauresmo for her second Grand Slam - the Belgian previously won it in 2003.
