Lindsay Davenport is taken aback by her 6-0 6-0 win over Jelena Kostanic.
"Yeah, I guess."
Davenport, when asked by a reporter if she is a "mean old lady".
"I don't know too many opponents that see Serena Williams next to their name and they say, 'yes'."
Serena Williams does not appear to be suffering a crisis of confidence.
"I'm really nervous. I don't know if I'll be more nervous for that than my match."
Vania King ahead of singing 'America the Beautiful' before the night session and after losing 6-1 6-2 to Justine Henin-Hardenne.
"We're not dating. I've said it a million times already. We're friendly. We're in the same places. I think she's a great girl. We'll talk. That's about it."
Andy Roddick tries to end the speculation that he's seeing Maria Sharapova.
"Is it his birthday? I had no idea. I really don't talk about my personal life. And when two tennis players know each other and are friends, and are known around the world, people are going to talk. That's exactly what's happening."
