Roddick picked up the injury in LA |
Andy Roddick's US Open preparations have taken another setback after the American had to pull out of next week's Toronto Masters with a side strain. The injury, which he suffered in LA on 28 July, had already forced him out of last week's Legg Mason Classic.
"Unfortunately, my side strain is still preventing me from being able to play matches," Roddick said in a statement.
Andre Agassi, playing his last US hardcourt season, pulled out of the Toronto tournament on Friday.
Roddick, US Open champion in 2003, said he would be putting all his efforts into getting fit for this year's major at Flushing Meadows, which begins on 28 August.
"I will be working hard this week and am optimistic to be back in top form for the US Open," said the 23-year-old.
