Great Britain will have to overcome their aversion to clay when they face Ukraine in the Davis Cup in September. GB take on Ukraine at the Odessa Lawn Tennis Club from 22-24 September, with the hosts having chosen slow red clay as the surface.
The match is a relegation play-off after Great Britain lost their Davis Cup Euro-Africa Zone Group One tie against Israel at Eastbourne in July.
Jeremy Bates resigned as captain after that tie and has yet to be replaced.
The Ukraine's highest-ranked player is Sergiy Stakhovsky, who is currently 181 in the world.
