The Bryans have turned brotherhood into a winning formula

Bob and Mike Bryan claimed the only Grand Slam doubles title that had eluded them with victory at Wimbledon.

The American brothers, seeded first, beat France's Fabrice Santoro and Nenad Zimonjic of Serbia 6-3 4-6 6-4 6-2 in one hour 57 minutes on Centre Court.

Playing in their second successive final at SW19, the Bryans recovered from a second-set blip.

And after dominating for most of the match they raced through the fourth to seal victory.

Mike Bryan said the victory was extra special as the pair wrapped up a career Grand Slam of doubles titles.

"This was the last one to get and the one we've dreamed about," said Mike Bryan.

"There's some legends on that board. Until now we could only say we lost in the final so it's going be sweet to say we're Wimbledon champions."
