 Keothavong is ranked 148 in the world |
British number one Anne Keothavong saw her good run in Strasbourg come to and end against Anna Smashnova on Tuesday. Keothavong had battled through three rounds of qualifying to make the main draw, beating Capuchine Rousseau, Tian tian Sun and Aleksandra Wozniak.
But world number 50 Smashnova proved too much for Keothavong, ranked 148, the Israeli winning 6-3 6-1.
It was the first time since Quebec last November that Keothavong had qualified for the main draw of a WTA Tour event.
