THIRD SET

Henman saves one but can do nothing with the second as Murray again unleashes an effort from the back of the court to clinch victory.

Henman struggles early, losing the first two points but he puts away an overhead to give him a chance. But a lucky Murray netcord gives the Scot two break points and with Henman surprisingly flat, Murray converts the first to level the match.

Henman gives himself a chance at 15-30 but Murray aces for the next point. Henman is alert to the danger and he sets up a break point and breaks back when Murray nets an easy-looking shot as the Scot throws his racket to the ground in frustration.

Henman 6-4 3-5 Murray
Henman stays in the set by holding comfortably to 15 and he can now put pressure on his opponent's serve as he saves for the match.

Henman wins the first point of the game on the Murray serve but that is the last as Murray continues to dominate. Things get worse for Henman when he misses an overhead and Murray is in reach of the set.

FIRST SET

Murray tries desperately to break back with a rasping forehand and smash to get to 30-all but Henman is ruthless at the net for set point and Murray nets a forehand to hand the set to Henman.

Murray gets himself back into the match by holding serve but Henman knows the younger man is still a danger.

Henman 5-3 Murray
Henman capitalises on the break of the previous game, making sure with an ace on game point after showing great athleticism to retrieve a Murray drop shot on the previous point.

Henman 4-3 Murray
The Henman forehand gets him to 30-0 up on the Murray serve and a poor volley at the net by Murray gives Henman two break points but he is unable to convert. But the opportunity soon presents itself again as Henman gets to the net and he seals the break with a smash.

Henman 3-3 Murray
Henman's volleying helps to get him back on level terms again but Murray is still working hard.

Henman 2-3 Murray
Murray does not have things his own way on his serve but he shows Henman what he can do with a rasping cross-court passing shot to put the more experienced player on the backfoot.

The sun is continuing to shine in Cincinnati but Henman finds himself in trouble on his own service game, including serving his first double fault. Murray is putting pressure on his opponent and it brings up three break points. Although Murray's defence is good, Henman has to work hard at the net to save all three and wins the next two points to win the game.

Henman is playing a patient game and is rewarded with two break points. Murray saves the first and Henman goes long with a forehand on the second. But Murray plays some well-placed overhead shots and goes on to hold serve.

Henman, who has a good record in Cincinnati, wins the opening two points in the game but Murray gets back to 30-all before Henman responds with the next two points, including an ace to win the game. Murray challenges the call with the first of his two challenges to line calls in the set but the line judge is proved correct.
