SECOND SET

Murray 6-2 6-4 Moya
Although Moya battles hard at the start of the game on his own serve, Murray keeps fighting to give himself a chance of victory. He earns his first match point with some controlled play and when Moya goes long, Murray wins to earn his first Masters Series quarter-final spot.

Murray 6-2 5-4 Moya
The tension seems to get to Murray and Moya's desperation to stay in the game is rewarded with a break point and his smash, which Murray is unable to return, helps him stay in the match.

Murray 6-2 5-3 Moya
Moya needs to come up with something special and he faces a difficult moment at 0-30 down. A superb early return from Murray gives the Scot two break points and Moya mistimes a shot badly to lose serve and the match is slipping away from him.

Murray 6-2 4-3 Moya
Murray overcomes a couple of nervous moments and his more aggressive style is reaping rewards, winning the game when Moya is off target with one of his shots.

Murray 6-2 3-3 Moya
Moya wins the game eventually but only after there is some confusion when the umpire says he has won the game a point earlier despite Murray successfully challenging a call. But after some discussion, the game resumes and Moya holds.

Murray takes the lead in the set, surprising Moya with a serve right into the corner on game point to hold.

The old confident Murray could be making a re-appearance as he races to a 0-40 lead and although Moya sends him from side to side, Murray is able to put away a forehand winner and break back.

Murray's touch at the net seems to have deserted him, as has his serve, which was so accurate in the first set. But he focusses and wins a couple of points in a row for a much-needed service hold.

Murray 6-2 0-2 Moya
Murray seems to have lost some of his focus and is struggling badly as Moya holds to love without doing anything special.

Murray 6-2 0-1 Moya
A slip-up by Murray who pays the price for an attempt at a drop shot at 30-15 on his own serve, but it is sloppy and Moya capitalises, showing the skills which got him to world number one.

FIRST SET

Murray 6-2 Moya
Everything goes perfectly for Murray as he gets three set points on the Moya serve. Moya saves one but it is only a brief respite as he serves a double fault on the next point to hand the set to Murray and the Spaniard has some serious thinking to do to try to get himself back into the match.

Murray 5-2 Moya
Moya gives Murray a reminder during the game with a neat passing shot but the Scot is dominating on his own serve and is helped by a couple of Moya shots which find the net.

Murray 4-2 Moya
Moya gets back on track, holding serve in a game where both players are guilty of making errors.

Murray 4-1 Moya
A few spots of rain are starting to fall in Toronto, where the dark clouds are circling but Murray will not want to come off court after holding easily to 15, clinching the game with an angled overhead shot.

Murray 3-1 Moya
Murray pushes his opponent around the court to get to 15-30 and with his positive play, it isn't long before he gets a break point and although the Scot leaves an approach shot short, Moya overfires a forehand and Murray is in control.

Murray 2-1 Moya
Murray looks in control early with three quick points and things look easy but two double faults allows Moya back into the game and Moya makes him run around the court to force a break point. But Murray recovers his composure to win the game.

Murray 1-1 Moya
Moya has to work hard on his first service game, saving two break points as his first serve looks less than secure but the former world number one eventually holds to level up.

Murray 1-0 Moya
Murray hopes to build on his victory over compatriot Tim Henman and with the wind swirling around the main stadium court in court, he holds serve to 30.
