Greg Rusedski got his 2006 campaign off to a winning start against French qualifier Nicolas Thomann at the Open 13 in Marseille on Tuesday. The 32-year-old was playing his first match of the season following the birth of his first child last month.
And Rusedski showed no sign of rustiness as he cruised to a 6-3 6-2 victory and a clash with Thomas Johansson or Fabrice Santoro.
Third seed Nikolay Davydenko beat Christophe Rochus of Belgium 6-1 6-2.
