Third seed Amelie Mauresmo reached her third successive Wimbledon semi-final with victory over Anastasia Myskina.

The Frenchwoman won 6-3 6-4 on Centre Court, and plays top seed and former champion Lindsay Davenport in the last four on Thursday.

Mauresmo came into the match with a 5-1 record against Myskina and was soon dominating from the net, breaking twice in the first set.

She then broke midway through the second to win in one hour nine minutes.

Myskina was playing in her first Wimbledon quarter-final and looked the more nervous of the two in the early stages, dropping serve in game four.

But she worked her way back into the match, managing to keep Mauresmo at the baseline when breaking back three games later.

The key factor was Mauresmo's ability to attack the Myskina serve and get into the net, and another break gave her a 5-3 lead which she converted.

The second set again saw Mauresmo let an early lead slip before clinching victory with a love-service game.

"I really wanted to play aggressively from the first point to the last," Mauresmo told BBC Sport.

"I was able to put a lot of pressure on her today and she didn't like it.

"I'm very happy to go through to the semi-finals again and hopefully I will make another step."

She added: "I felt much more comfortable on the court today.

"I knew I'd have some opportunities on her second serve and I decided to put the pressure on her. I mixed it up pretty well and I'm very satisfied about that."

Myskina said: "She played a little bit different than she used to play. She came to the net a lot.
