Andre Agassi beat Dominik Hrbaty 6-3 6-3 to move into the semi-finals of the Rome Masters and stay on course for his first title since last August. Agassi, who turned 35 last week, has not won a title since capturing the Cincinnati Masters in 2004.
He will meet Guillermo Coria in the last four after Coria beat Spain's Fernando Verdasco 3-6 6-3 6-3.
Meanwhile, David Ferrer saved four match points before beating fellow Spaniard Alberto Martin 6-2 3-6 7-5.
Martin wasted three match points serving at 5-3 in the third set and another on Ferrer's serve at 5-4.
Ferrer will meet fifth seed Rafael Nadal in the last four after he overcame Radek Stepanek.
The Spaniard dropped the first set 5-7 before finding his game and seeing off the Czech 15th seed 6-1 6-1 in the second and third.
