Briton Alan Mackin has secured a lucky loser place in the main draw of the Swiss Indoors tournament in Basel. The Scot will play Cypriot qualifier Marcos Baghdatis in the first round.
He comes into the tournament after Rafael Nadal withdrew following his exploits in winning the Madrid Masters in a gruelling five-set final.
The Spaniard, who has been struggling with a knee injury, had been promoted to the top seeding after home favourite Roger Federer pulled out injured.
