Roger Federer's part-time coach Tony Roche has agreed to help Indian rising star Sania Mirza on a short-term basis. Roche will work with the 18-year-old for three weeks over Christmas, reports the Sydney Morning Herald.
"The people looking after her just felt that she needs a bit of work on a few areas of her game," said Roche.
Mirza has risen from outside the top 200 to her current ranking of 32 within a year, becoming a huge star in India in the process.
Roche added: "I'm just going to have a look at her and just see what she needs to do.
"She's had a pretty good year, made some big inroads, so it will be interesting to see.
"I'm not going to be travelling - I'm just going to help her with a bit of what she needs to work on for a couple of weeks."
Roche, who also coached Ivan Lendl and Pat Rafter to Grand Slam victories, began working with world number one Federer on an occasional basis at the start of the year.
