Tim Henman completed a comfortable 7-6 6-1 victory over Russia's Igor Andreev to move into the quarter-finals of the Dubai Championships. Henman won the first-set tie-break 7-5 after neither player managed to claim the other's serve in a tight opening.
The British number one, who beat Greg Rusedski in the first round, then cruised through the second set.
Henman faces Croat Ivan Ljubicic in the last eight after the eighth seed beat Spain's Fernando Verdasco 6-7 6-4 7-6.
"Winning the tiebreak was crucial and I am pleased to get through," said Henman.
"The level of tennis was very high in the first set. He is a great athlete with a great physique and he can hit the ball hard."
