Petrova progresses in Luxembourg

Petrova is seeded second in Luxembourg
Nadia Petrova beat Czech player Kveta Peschke 6-3 6-1 to reach the quarter-finals of the Luxembourg Open.

The Russian second seed was joined in the last eight by fourth-seeded Nathalie Dechy, who beat Madagascar's Dally Randriantefy 6-1 6-1.

Dechy will now play Slovakia's Daniela Hantuchova, seeded fifth.

Also through to the quarter-finals are seventh-seeded Dinara Safina, Italian Roberta Vinci, Germany's Anna-Lena Groenefeld.

Top seed Kim Clijsters advanced on Wednesday and she meets Francesca Schiavone on Friday.
